About the Author
Dr Roger Mugford is widely acknowledged as being Britain's leading animal psychologist. He holds advanced degrees in zoology and psychology. After pioneering the practice of behavioral therapy for pets, Dr Mugford founded the Animal Behaviour Centre in 1979, which is currently the biggest of its kind. Dr Mugford is a frequent contributor to international symposia, books, radio and TV programs about pets. He is also responsible for the invention of numerous training accessories, including the world-famour HALTI Headcollar.

Client loved this book!!

I'm a professional dog trainer, certified in dog behavior through International Association Animal Behavior Consultants (iaabc.org). I was also familiar with Roger Mugford. I also use and recommend head collars for owners who may benefit from using head collars on dogs. Roger Mugford invented the Halti collar and now the new Opti-fit, that i also like.
I've read and reviewed most of this book, but recently loaned to a client. I wanted them to review a specific section/chapter. He told me this was the best book he's seen and i've loaned this couple several of my training books, all written based on using positive reinforcement and marker type training methods.

Must read for dog owners

Overall a very good book on dog training. I think Mr. Mugford could have gone into a little more detail on how so use his training techniques. He had some excellent points in the training challenges and canine behavioural therapy sections. I recommend anyone with a dog should take a look at this book.
